Reflections and Family Art Night at Dickinson Ave

Reflections and Family Art Night at Dickinson Ave photo

In an effort to reinforce the nation-wide initiative Pick a Reading Partner (PARP) Dickinson Avenue Elementary has held multiple events throughout the school year to encourage families to participate. On Friday, March 16, Dickinson Avenue had a Reflections award ceremony, as well as a family art night, celebrating reading and art-making achievements in the student body.

Reflections, a national PTA program that welcomes students of all ages and abilities to be involved in the arts, usually focuses on a theme and allows students to create original works of art, and are recognized for their achievements. At this event, organized by Ms. Tiffany Asdourian and the whole PTA, children and their family members had the opportunity to work together and create art work based on the styles and methods of famous artists. Stations included opportunities to imitate pieces of Picasso, Monet’s Water Lilies, and more.

Congratulations to the Reflections winners!
