The Brazilian Rainforest at Dickinson Avenue

Recently the third-grade Integrated Co-Ed Teaching class at Dickinson Avenue finished a unit that focused on Brazil—the culture, the geography, and as a culminating activity, the rainforest. After studying the unique animals that live there, each student was assigned an individual animal to research and present to their families and loved ones. In addition, other classes attended the set-up rainforest and learned from the students’ firm understanding of their animals.

“It’s always rewarding to watch our students get excited about a topic and want to share their knowledge with everyone,” said Nicole Neems, a Special Education teacher at Dickinson Avenue.
