Students at Bellerose Avenue Elementary School gave back to the environment by planting native shrubs on school grounds during the first week of May. The plants—silky dogwood, northern white cedar, and red osier dogwoods—were provided by the Department of Environmental Conservation as part of the School Seedling Program. Students enjoyed planting the shrubs in the sunshine, and helping the world around them!

“We are working to help our students become more aware of their role in the environment and the impact we can have on the outdoors,” said principal Lori Beekman.
