Northport High School recognized 33 students from the class of 2018 graduating with Academy of IT (AIOT) certificates on May 22.

The Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) is an interdisciplinary program recognized nation-wide that prepares students for a career in Information Technology, is designed for students interested in the areas of computer science, video editing, web design, programming, computer networking, and computer security and forensics. In addition, the Northport AOIT coordinates an intern program for students entering 12th grade, further adding to their preparation for the modern digital workplace.

The ceremony included a keynote presentation by AOIT alumnus Steven Dragone, Class of 2008, who is now working as Associate Director of Operations in the office of undergraduate admission at Hofstra University, and Mr. Karan Sikka, a software engineer at Google. Each student received a certificate in recognition of their hard work and accomplishment.
