Groups of
“100-year-old” kindergartners and first graders paraded through the
halls of Ocean Avenue Primary School on Feb. 14 to celebrate their 100th
day of school.
Students were excited to design “100 Day Smarter”
crowns using colored pencils and markers and used their imaginations to
color celebratory cupcakes using construction paper. They were even
happier to enjoy the experience with their parents, who were invited to
the school to participate in the festivities.
Prior to the day’s
celebrations, the students spent time creating posters, using pennies,
cheetah spots or pom-poms, that their teachers used to decorate the
walls of the kindergarten and first grade hallway.
