DECA students shine at State Career Conference

Nineteen Northport Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) students competed against 2,300 students at the 2020 DECA State Career Conference Feb. 26-28.
Students completed written exams in different areas of business and completed role plays and case studies in front of judges. Northport DECA students placed among the top 10 in categories, such as human resource management, hotel lodging, business law and ethics and marketing.
Faith Gillin came in second place in business finance and Jamie Saturno and Meghan Smith placed fifth in the Travel and Tourism team event. Faith, Jamie and Meghan will move on to compete in the DECA International Competition in Nashville in April, where they will compete against 23,000 students from around the world. Congratulations to all students and DECA advisors are Elizabeth Price and Chris Goodwin.
