Northport High School art students Benjamin Herbert and Julianna Curcio have been selected by Heckscher Museum Curator Karli Wurzelbacher and guest juror Melissa Misla to exhibit their artwork at the prestigious Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at Heckscher Museum 2021.

Each year, students in grades nine through 12 are invited to create artwork inspired by pieces currently on display at the museum. Benjamin received a Renzo & Lynette Bianchi Scholarship award for his terracotta sculpture, “Requiem”, which was created under the direction of art teacher Robin O’Neill-Gonzalez. Julianna’s digital photograph, “Clairvoyant”, was created under the direction of art teacher John DeRosa, and was selected for an additional exhibition at Mitchells in Huntington.

Both pieces are currently on exhibit at the Heckscher Museum until May 23rd, and Julianna’s artwork will be on display at Mitchells from May 25th through June 27th.
