STEM Coordinator and Teacher Jen Baranaskas Earns STEM Star Award from LISTEMELA

Northport-East Northport teacher and STEM Coordinator Jennifer Baranaskas has been awarded the Long Island STEM Education Leadserhip Association (LISTEMELA) Star Award for her work in developing the district’s STEM enrichment for all program. 
The STEM Star award was created to honor teachers who serve as "a beacon of light for our students" as well as demonstrate exemplary commitment to the vision of LISTEMELA, which is equitable student access to high quality learning experiences. 
The STEM enrichment for all program spans across grades kindergarten through fifth. Mrs. Baranaskas played a leadership role in the development and implementation of the program curriculum. She also teaches grades four and five in the makerspace environment. Her work was instrumental in the program’s success this school year and she continues to inspire her students each day with her passion and creativity. 
Mrs. Baranaskas will be presented with the award at the LISTEMELA ceremony on May 6.
