NHS Student Artwork Makes its Way Back to District

We are thrilled that former Northport High School Art Teacher Constance Wolf joined us for yesterday evening's Board of Education meeting alongside students Olivia DeFeo, Eli Dalton, Elle Vezzi, to donate an incredible piece of student artwork.
Ms. Wolf and her students created the piece of artwork through a program sponsored by Northport’s Firefly Artists Gallery. The artwork represents a tree which previously stood in front of NHS and the landscape of Long Island, and was done by a group of students working together to carve the piece during after hours and weekends. A framing company then generously offered to frame the piece for free prior to the pandemic, however due to COVID-19 complications, the piece was kept there until this January, when it was ultimately retrieved by Ms. Wolf and the district.

Ms. Wolf expressed pride in her students and thankfulness for Firefly Artists Gallery and Big Ink who presented them with this opportunity.
Thank you Ms. Wolf and all of our incredible art students for this generous and remarkable donation!
