In one of the most successful All-State seasons of all time, 11 Northport High School students have scored a 100 on their NYSSMA All-State solo performances. For band, students Molly Gonzalez, Ruby Nolan, Nicholas Thomas, Hunter Brown, Christopher Lucie, Evan Johnson, Benjamin Shea, James Conolly and Ozan DeMir earned perfect scores. For strings, students Samantha Libbey and Giuliana Masone each earned a 100 as well.
Symphonic Winds and Marching Band Director Lynn Cromeyn said “this is a remarkable accomplishment given that last year, the entire NYSSMA festival was virtual. To have this many students go, compete and receive perfect scores of 100 is exceptional.”
Director of Fine and Performing Arts Izzet Mergen added “This may very well be the largest number of students we have ever had score perfectly in the past 20 years I’ve had the pleasure of being here!”
Congratulations to all students on this remarkable accomplishment!
