PRS Students Place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Recycling Poster Contest

Four Pulaski Road students put their art skills to work to promote the importance of recycling, earning them 1st, 2nd or 3rd place awards. The recycling-themed poster contest was sponsored by Supervisor Ed Smyth, the Town of Huntington and Covanta Huntington throughout April and students were awarded their respective prizes at Huntington Town Hall on June 14.  

Ryann DeJong won first place and was awarded a Lenovo tablet; Emma McCarrick took home second place and wasawarded a $75 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble; both Grace Bulanowski and Quinn DeJong took home third place and each received a $50 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble. Pulaski Road School also earned a $500 award for having one of two first place winners in the Town of Huntington! 

The student artwork focused on the theme of “reduce, reuse and recycle” for Earth Day and emphasized the importance of caring for our planet. Congratulations students!
