Northport High School senior Andrew Miller has plenty to be proud of as an accomplished athlete and successful student. His latest accomplishment is being named a News12 Long Island scholar athlete, earning him a $1,000 scholarship courtesy of Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Andrew is a three-season athlete, playing football, basketball and lacrosse. He will be attending West Point on a lacrosse scholarship next year.

Throughout his high school career, Andrew has scored countless points for his respective teams. During the 2021-22 lacrosse season, he helped bring the team to the state finals after securing the Long Island championship as an all-star long pole midfielder.

“Andrew is a powerhouse both on the field and off. His commitment, sportsmanship, strong work ethic and humble attitude have made him the definition of a Northport Tiger. I have no doubt that he is going to be successful in the future and that West Point is lucky to have him,” said Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics Mark Dantuono.

Andrew’s lacrosse coach Larry Cerasi added “Andrew has been a leader and positive influence on his lacrosse peers since he joined us freshman year. We’re looking for to another successful season with him this spring and wish him success as he heads to West Point next year.”

As News12’s Scholar Athlete, Andrew has been featured on the network and will be invited to attend the annual awards dinner later this year. He has plans to pursue a career in medicine and is looking forward to furthering his studies and joining the lacrosse team at West Point.

Congratulations Andrew!
