As part of the Universal Pre-Kindergarten program, New York State (pending approval), will provide funding for the placement of 22 four-year-old children into district-selected participating agencies/preschool programs. Children must be born in the year 2014 and reside in the Northport-East Northport School District.

If selected, parents must agree to send their child 5 days per week for a 2 ½ hour per day program, verify their residence, and have their child undergo hearing, vision and dental exams. A full immunization record must be submitted. There is no cost to the family, however, transportation is not provided.

A lottery system will be used to select the students. Parents will be notified by May 4th, and students not selected will be placed on a waiting list. The schools participating in our program will be Island Kids Early Childhood Center (Northport), Northport Nursery School (Northport), Pumpkin Patch Day Nursery (Commack) and Kiddie Care Early Learning Center (Commack). If your child is selected to participate, you will have your choice of schools depending on availability.
