The Northport-East Northport School District is proud to announce that another of its high school teachers has been accepted into the New York State Master Teacher program.

Northport High School Science Teacher Karyn Libretto will join a network of more than 1200 teachers, including the district’s own Bryan Horan, Kristen Rozell and Marlene Yolango, to help strengthen the nation’s K-12 STEM education.

Master teachers meet regularly to participate in leadership workshops and activities to help foster individual and collective professional growth in topics such as student research projects, expeditionary learning and Common Core.

In her classroom, Ms. Libretto constantly integrates STEM disciplines into her lesson plans, instilling curiosity, creativity and eagerness in her students.
“Ms. Libretto’s depth of knowledge offers her students every opportunity to develop a set of thinking, reasoning, teamwork, investigative, and creative skills that can be applied in all aspects of their education,” said David Storch, the district’s chairperson of Chairperson of Science, Technology & Engineering Education.
