Congratulations to Northport High School seniors Marcos Guerrero, Teddy Krantz and Rosalie Sarnataro, who were named Commended Scholars in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program on Oct. 22.
The students were three of approximately 1.5 million students to take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test last year and are three of only 34,000 students nationwide to earn the prestigious title.
“It’s something you should be very proud of,” Principal Daniel Danbusky said.
Over the years, the seniors have involved themselves in after school activities that have helped mold their high school careers. Marcos has been a member of the school’s Academy of Computer Science since freshman year, whereas Rosalie has been an active member of the Academy of Finance since becoming a sophomore. As a junior last year, Teddy joined the school’s Model United Nations.
Each of the seniors have bright futures ahead of them. After graduation, Marcos intends to study computer science, Teddy plans to major in engineering and Rosalie is eager to pursue a career in STEM.
