Eight Academy of Finance female business leaders attended HIA-LI’s 14th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference, themed Ignite Your Inner Fire: Leading with Passion and Purpose, last Friday at the Hilton Long Island in Melville.

The conference, which had over 400 attendees, began with a discussion at a women’s business leaders forum hosted by the U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, recognizing the unique issues women encounter in the business world. It was followed by an engaging keynote and a panel discussion with 6 Long Island female leaders across several industries. The panel addressed topics including work-life balance, confidence-building and collaborative leadership. The event closed with a Fireside Chat featuring Erin Colton, anchor at News 12 Long Island.
