Northport High School Symphony Orchestra to Perform at NYSSMA Winter Conference

Northport High School Symphony Orchestra to Perform at NYSSMA Winter Conference thumbnail262961
Congratulations to our Northport High School Symphony Orchestra students and their music teacher, Michael Susinno, who have been selected to perform as the featured premiere public high school orchestra at the New York State School Music Association’s Winter Conference in Rochester, New York!

Our Tiger orchestra was selected following their outstanding performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., on Presidents’ Day last spring and is the only high school ensemble to be featured at this All-State Music Festival.

The last time a group from Northport High School was invited to perform at the NYSSMA Winter Conference was in 1965 when the Northport High School Symphony Orchestra and Choir performed together.

Fun Fact: The featured Northport High School student soloist at that 1965 performance was Northport’s own Ms. Patti LuPone, the international star of Broadway, film and television!
