Teachers, administrators and support staff came together this morning for a day of professional learning for Superintendent's Conference Day.
The day began with a presentation from Superintendent Dr. Dave Moyer on future-driven learning. Dr. Moyer emphasized that we can learn from and respect the past while simultaneously ensuring we are preparing students for their futures. He spoke of the importance of instilling life-readiness in our students and helping prepare them for life beyond secondary education.
Following the presentation, staff gathered with their departments to spend time learning about artificial intelligence and how this emergent technology can support their work. Within their groups, they discussed both the benefits and challenges of AI, the ethical concerns around its use and how it can be used to enhance, not hinder, learning.
