Today is a B Day
On October 19th, 1781 British forces under General Charles Cornwallis sign terms of surrender to George Washington and Comte de Rochambeau at Yorktown; The American Revolutionary War ends.
Students please bring your jackets and/or sweatshirts with you to lunch if you intend on going outside for recess. Students will not be allowed to go to their lockers after they have eaten.

The school physician will be conducting physicals on Tuesday, October 23rd.
NY State Law requires that all 7th graders and new entrants have a physical examination by a NY State licensed physician. If Mrs. Enright has not received a completed physical form for your 7th grader or has not heard from you, your child will be scheduled to see the school doctor.
Any 7th or 8th grader who would like to participate in a late winter sport and needs a physical by the school physician please let Mrs. Enright know so your child can be seen by the doctor on Tuesday, October 23rd.
EARLY WINTER SPORTS
Early winter sports for 7th & 8th graders - (Boys basketball, Girls Volleyball and Cheer) will begin on Monday, November 5th. Signups will be ONLINE through Family ID – you should have received an email for the registration process. This is a new signup process. Click to view information. Online registration will begin on Friday, October 5th and close on Thursday November 1st.

HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR TIX
Tickets for the Halloween Spooktacular will be available for purchase next week during lunch periods. The cost is $4 if purchased at lunch. Tickets will also be available at the door for $5.

Volley for Victory will be on Friday, November 16th from 3:12-5 PM... if you would like to make up a team, please go on the STARS Google Page and submit it ASAP! It is first come first serve!! PATRIOT’S DAY SERVICE FORM
On our web page is the Patriot’s Day Service form.
We invite you to voluntarily perform an act of service or kindness for a member or members of our community, family, or school. Take the form and reflect upon it. How can you best demonstrate kindness and concern for others?
If you decide to participate, describe your service and return the form to the Counseling Center on or before November 9th. During the week of November 13th, after Veterans Day, we will recognize all who participated with Patriot’s Day Certificates. Thank you for your service.

The National Junior Honor Society is looking for volunteers to help out at the color run taking place tomorrow, Saturday October 20, 2018. Thursday – Purple Day!!!!! Wear something Purple in recognition of RAP Week Signature color
Friday – School Spirit Day wear your favorite Northport Team Shirt or Jersey or School Colors

GIFT CARD FUNDRAISER
If you want to earn money towards your future trips you can request a copy of the gift card forms. You can do it for ALL of the years that your child is in middle school (money will accumulate) and use it towards either their sixth or eighth grade trip.
