Northport High School’s Early Child Education program still has available openings for the Two-Year Old Toddler Program for the 2019-20 school year.
In this program, each toddler is paired with a student from Northport’s Family and Consumer Science class, where students are studying toddler development. The classroom where the program is held is specially designed with learning tools and age-appropriate toys for toddlers aged 2 through 4. The goal of the program is to introduce the children to a classroom environment, provide opportunity for them to learn to separate from their caregivers, and interact with their peers.
In order to qualify for this program, toddlers must be 2 years of age on or before Dec. 31, 2019, families must be residents of the Northport-East Northport School District, and the students will have the ability to regularly attend the program, which is vital to the success of the program.
This class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11:55 a.m.-12:25 p.m. There is no cost for the program, and parents are responsible for their own transportation of their child.
