Compliance Training



State and federal regulations require that all school district employees complete mandatory compliance training every year on the following topics:

  • Hazardous communications
  • Blood-borne pathogens
  • Sexual Harassment – N Y State Mandated
  • Prevention and Emergency Response in K-12 Schools
  • Digital Security and Protection
  • COVID – 19 Plan, Prepare and Respond (Educational Institutions)
  • COVID – 19 Video: Proper Handwashing (CDC)
  • COVID – 19 Workplace Guidelines

The compliance training associated with these topics is intended to provide employees with information to promote a safe and healthy work environment. While all employees must complete compliance training annually on hazardous communications, blood-borne pathogens, sexual harassment, digital security/protection, prevention and emergency response in K12 schools and (3) COVID – 19, the District may also require that certain employee groups complete training related to other topics that are relevant to their work responsibilities.

The Northport-East Northport School District has contracted with Global Compliance network (GCN) to provide compliance training on the topics identified above. GCN provides online training tutorials that employees can complete using any computer that has an internet connection, internal or external speakers, and the latest version of Adobe Macromedia Flash player. Employees will log on to the GCN web site and complete the required training tutorials according to the deadline established below. The time needed to complete each online tutorial varies from 15 to 40 minutes, and employees may complete all required tutorials in one session or in separate sessions.  Work is saved in each tutorial until completed, essentially allowing for employees to pick up where they left off on any given tutorial.

The directions can be found on the district website under Human Resources (compliance training). Once you are logged on, select the required tutorials. When you have completed the required tutorials, GCN will notify The Office of Human Resources that you have satisfied your annual compliance training.

All employees need to complete the training for the above eight topics December 31, 2021. If you do not have access to the internet, please call Donna Bovelle at 262-6629 and she will direct you to a convenient location. All other questions should also be directed to Donna.

Logging on to GCN is easy. Just follow the directions below. When you have completed the required tutorials, GCN will notify The Office of Human Resources that you have satisfied your annual compliance training.

Login Directions:

  1. Go to

  2. Click "LOGIN"

  3. Enter the organization code for Northport-East Northport: 28435 (you will need to enter this organization code each time you login)

  4. Click "Create a New Account"

  5. Type your last name and click "Search"

  6. Select your name and click "Import This Information"

  7. Create a user ID that you will remember and click "Check Account Availability."  Your unique ID (UID) can be your first initial and last name (no spaces) or anything else you choose

  8. Review your personal information, which is already entered into the program, and click "Submit"

  9. Use the drop-down menu to select the tutorial to be completed and follow the directions on the screen

  10. The next time you log on to the GCN website, you will only need to enter the organization code for Northport-East Northport: 28435 and your unique user ID.
