Northport HS grad designs proof-of-concept for low-cost ventilators

Northport High School alumnus and UCLA biodesign fellow Glen Meyerowitz was recently featured on NBC News for building a device that could potentially serve as a proof-of-concept for a low-cost ventilator. Hospitals in New York and Long Island have reported ventilator shortages amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Meyerowitz graduated from Northport High School with an IB diploma in 2009 and graduated from Yale University in 2014 after taking a year to study abroad in China. From there, he worked for a time at SpaceX – a California-based aerospace manufacturer – and is now a graduate student at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
