At the Dec. 12 meeting of the Northport-East Northport Union Free School District Board of Education, the Board recognized Northport High School senior Kailey Ciszek as the Rotary Student of the Year for English Language Arts. 

Kailey was selected for this honor through a process that included numerous recommendations from staff in the Northport High School English Department and for her clear passion for ELA.

“Kailey fosters a safe and welcoming learning environment,” said AP Literature and Composition teacher Erin Baudier. “She is a welcomed collaborator in class and offers thought provoking prospectives, elevating class discussion.”
